All Together: A Worldwide Collaboration

by | Apr 21, 2020

In these unpredictable and challenging times, our brewing community is taking the hardest hit. Facing government restrictions and new health guidelines, the repercussions are felt right down to the families of servers, bartenders and dishwashers.

For the past decade, breweries have created relief beers for communities in need. This time, brewers that are able are joining forces to support their own, providing relief to their industry colleagues that are struggling with issues relating to COVID-19.

Created by Other Half Brewing Co, the All Together project is a worldwide, open-ended beer collaboration created to raise support and awareness for breweries facing these challenges. They’re providing participants with all of the tools needed, including the recipe and artwork, to brew a beer at the lowest cost possible.

“In this industry, when one of us struggles, the rest of us pick them up,” said the team at Other Half Brewing Co. “It’s baked into who we are.”

Breweries that are able to participate and sell their beers during this time are asked to donate a portion of their proceeds to supporting hospitality professionals in their own local communities.

“The rest should go to keeping you in business to weather this storm,” said Other Half Brewing Co. “For us, proceeds will go to the Restaurant Workers Community Foundation. As much as this is about raising money, this is also an exercise in awareness so that local communities can understand how daily life has been upended for those that rely on social gathering to make a living.”

We are always inspired by brewers’ endless passion for using their power as a community to help others. With that, Yakima Chief Hops is offering hops at a discounted price to breweries looking to create their own All Together Beers. Our hope is that they will be able to produce this beer at a more cost-effective price that allows more proceeds to go back to breweries in need as well as their own businesses.

At Yakima Chief Hops, giving back to the community runs deep in our company culture. We believe beer is community. From the brewing industry to our local neighborhoods to cause-based organizations, our employees feel passionate about partnering with brewers to create something bigger than beer.

YCH is currently seeking ways in which we can support our customers along with the brewing community as a whole during these difficult times. The craft beer industry has supported us and our growers from the beginning, dating back to our days as Hopunion. This is an opportunity to return the favor.
