Give Back, Give Thanks

At Yakima Chief Hops, giving back to our communities is part of our core culture. It is something that our employees are passionate about and take pride in doing. As part of our corporate social responsibility initiative, we created the YCH Give Back program to provide employees with more opportunities to get involved with local nonprofit organizations.

Each year, all full-time employees are allotted 16 paid volunteer hours and a $200 allowance to donate to a nonprofit or program of their choosing, including youth programs, animal welfare organizations and disability assistance. Multiplied by 279 employees across seven different countries, including eight different US states, our employees have the potential to create a big impact. From playing music for the elderly to supplying classrooms with brand new books, the Give Back program has allowed many employees the opportunity to make a difference.

Knowing that the holidays are when families need the support of their communities the most, some of our employees used their Give Back hours to pack Thanks-giveaway Food Boxes at the local homeless shelter, Yakima Union Gospel Mission. YCH staff members helped to pack and disperse 500 boxes that included a complete Thanksgiving dinner kit to be donated to families in need.

In addition to volunteer hours, our employees have also found other ways to get involved in the community during the holiday season. YCH staff have taken the initiative to organize and contribute to the Coats for Kids program for the Yakima Valley. (In an area that often experiences freezing temperatures, this is a crucial program in our neighborhood). We also gather goods and volunteer our time for the local NBC Hometown Harvest Food Drive each year.

Yakima Chief Hops employs people that enjoy making a positive impact on the world around them. By supporting YCH, our customers also support countless nonprofit organizations that work to improve the well-being of communities across the globe. We are thankful for our local communities and enjoy the opportunity to give back each holiday season in any way we can.
