Pink Boots Blend
Yakima Chief Hops has partnered with Pink Boots Society, a global nonprofit organization dedicated to women in the brewing profession, to create an annual hop blend in celebration and support of women in beer. This proprietary blend officially named Pink Boots Blend is available to commercial and home brewers and a portion of the proceeds benefit the Pink Boots Society scholarship funds.
Each year, Yakima Chief Hops staff and Pink Boots Society members select the varieties for a new seasonal blend, each voting on their dream blend to create a truly collaborative product. The team carefully rubs, smells and experiences each hop sample, and decides on the recipe for the blend to be shipped the following year. The blend is produced and sold by Yakima Chief Hops as traditional T-90 hop pellets with limited availability.
The Pink Boots Blend inspires brewers throughout the year to create special beers that celebrate and support women in the industry. However, commercial brewers are encouraged to submit preorders by December 15th if they wish to participate in a global brew day celebration for International Women’s Day on March 8th. This ensures that the product will be produced and shipped in time to brew for the Pink Boots Collaboration Brew Day.

Each year, YCH contributes the sales proceeds from the Pink Boots Blend to the PBS scholarship fund, which helps women in the industry attend educational seminars, classes, certifications and tours. Using the scholarship program, PBS aims to inspire and assist women beer professionals to advance their careers through education. Scholarship opportunities are open to women anywhere in the world who are actively employed in the beer industry.
Since 2018, more than $257,000 has been contributed to the Pink Boots Society scholarship fund from the sale of the Pink Boots Blend. With this community-based blend, we are passionate about promoting diversity from the brewhouse to the taprooms and hope to inspire brewers worldwide to do the same.
The 4th Annual Pink Boots Blend was chosen via a virtual hop selection event involving women in beer from across the globe. The newest blend consists of Cashmere, Ahtanum®, Citra®, Loral® & Sabro® brand hops, creating a blend with tropical, herbal, citrus & woody aromatic qualities.
