our candles are rooted in tradition
Established in 2022, the Yakima Candle House is an eco-friendly company owned and operated by Hop Growers throughout the Pacific Northwest.
Our candles are made from all-natural soy wax which gives them a smooth, silky appearance. If burned properly, they burn clean – almost no smoke. We make our candles in small batches just a few at a time and use cotton wicks. All fragrance oils used are phthalate free.
Each candle is poured, labeled and packaged by hand in our family studio in Yakima, Washington in the foothills of the beautiful Cascade Mountains. We are both excited and proud to have the opportunity to create beautiful candles infused with high quality Hop Oil, spreading warmth, light and happiness wherever they may sparkle.

All of our candles are hand-poured and hand-packaged in our workshop in Yakima, WA. At this time our workshop is not open to the public.
YCH candles are made with all-natural soy wax, braided cotton/paper wicks, and the world’s finest Hop Oils. Just wax, wick, and Hop Oils with no other additives or dyes.
Our CANDLES shine
Many traditional candles contain waxes made from petroleum by-products, wicks with lead in them, and synthetic fragrance oils filled with toxins and carcinogens. These materials can poison the indoor air that you breathe, especially in the Winter, when the windows are shut. Ours are a sustainable, healthy alternative!

All of our packaging is produced from 100% recycled materials and our soy wax is made from soybeans, a completely renewable resource grown right here in the US.
Clean air
Our candles contain only soy wax, cotton & recycled paper braided wicks, essential oils and all natural fragrance oils making them some of the cleanest burning candles you’ll find.

Our 100% pure soy wax candles burn longer than traditional candles. Soy wax is a slower burning wax, giving you more time with your favorite candle.
Our process
Our candles are crafted in the same way that artisans have been creating their hand-made goods for many years – meticulously selecting each ingredient and blending by hand in small batches to produce a quality, one-of-a-kind product. Inside our studio, you will not find large equipment or factory-style machinery. Instead, you will find small melters, pouring pots and hand-blenders. You will find containers and boxes of natural ingredients and bottles of premium oils. You will also find many beautiful labels and fine, hand-crafted packaging made with environmentally-safe materials.
Through our products, we strive to combine our passion for the environment and love of simple design with west coast sensibilities and ties to the land. We ensure that each of our candles are made and packaged with carefully-selected ingredients that are both kind to the environment and our health. In this spirit, we believe that by taking care of the land and its inhabitants, it will in turn take care of us and provide the gifts of sustenance, balance, health, and well-being.
